Blue Ecotur.

Santiago del Teide offers you the opportunity to enjoy a unique ecotourism experience. Under the name “Blue Ecotur”, a project developed with ERDF funds, within the framework of the Interreg MAC 2014-2020 cooperation programme, brings together all the activities that can be carried out in our privileged marine environment, at the foot of the impressive Cliffs of Los Gigantes, in the Teno-Rasca protected coastal waters, declared the first whale sanctuary in Europe and the third internationally.

The thrill of whale watching with boats that adhere to the Sustainability Charter, discovering the seabed while snorkelling or diving, enjoying a day of kayaking or paddle surfing, learning about the marine environment through oceanographic research with the “Farfalle Project”, unique in the Canary Islands and based in Santiago del Teide, or relaxing on a sea excursion that takes you to discover the impressive coves of the Teno Massif coastline, are just some of the experiences offered by “Blue Ecotur”.

Volcanological Tourism.

Santiago del Teide is located in a privileged location, where the oldest volcanic formations in Tenerife converge in the Teno Massif, and the youngest lava flows on the island, resulting from the eruption of the Chinyero Volcano (1909).

The presence of a large concentration of volcanoes and lava flows, and an exceptional network of trails, allows us to enjoy an unforgettable experience among volcanoes that you can start or end at the Chinyero Visitor Centre, a space dedicated to the eruption itself and to the volcanology of Tenerife in general.
