Parish Church of
Santa Ana

The history of this parish dates back to the 16th century, when on 15 September 1568, Alonso González, and Beatriz Báez, a married couple, declared before a notary public their intention to build a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne in the village of Tamaimo.

Although the desire arose early on, it was not until 21 September 1715 that the first Mass was celebrated in the church. A day later, the image of Saint Anne was placed, followed by those of Our Lady of Peace and Saint Joachim, completing the devotional ensemble that would bring this parish to life.

Located in the centre of the village, the parish church continues to be a spiritual reference point for residents and a living example of the religious and historical roots of the village of Tamaimo.

How to get there?

The parish is located in the centre of Tamaimo, easily accessible on foot from anywhere in the town. It is also possible to arrive by car via the TF-82 road, with parking areas in the surrounding area.
