Fisherman's Museum

In Puerto de Santiago, this exhibition space pays tribute to one of the most deeply rooted trades in the history of the municipality: traditional fishing. Panels, photographs, and objects related to this trade give us an insight into what life was like for the fishermen and fishmongers of Puerto de Santiago.

Before entering, its sculptural façade catches the eye, a work by renowned French artist Bernard Romain that symbolises the close relationship between the sea, fishing, and life on the coast. Inside, traditional fishing gear, nautical tools, and graphic testimonies illustrate the effort, skill, and human courage of those who went out to sea every day to fish, when the sea was not just a landscape, but also a source of sustenance. The tour also shows the evolution of fishing activity over time and its impact on the development of the coastal environment.

A place that showcases the fishing heritage of Santiago del Teide, ideal for those who wish to discover the relationship between community, coastline, and culture, which is still present in every corner of the Santiago coastline.

How to get there?

The museum is located in the centre of Puerto de Santiago, near the public square, on Avenida Quinto Centenario. It is easily accessible on foot if you are in the area or by car, with parking options nearby.
